Hair Adornments & Veil Choices

After searching for your wedding dress, there is only one more item that could possibly complete the bridal look- your headpiece! There are many different kinds, all of which can compliment the dress!

ivory bridal headpiece feather fascinator birdcage veil art deco wedding hair accessories - made to -f96663

You could choose a tiara, and look like a princess on your wedding day, complete with a stylish hairstyle, or you could get a fun and flirty comb. Combs can come with hair adornments such as crystals or feathers, all of which look great with wedding gowns.

Another great headpiece idea is to purchase a bridal cap. Bridal caps are very glamorous, and exude class. They only look good with the right  gown so keep this in mind while gown shopping, if you have your heart set on a bridal cap.

Fascinators can also be used, and have been wildly popular since Kate Middleton wed Prince William in 2011. Fascinators can range in price, and can be very intricate. They are very visually appealing, and can be the right addition to your bridal look!

When choosing your headpiece, keep in mind if it will look right with your wedding gown. Take a picture of your wedding gown along with you, or purchase it when you go gown shopping. Take your purchased headpiece along with you when going to your hair appointment so that your stylist can play with it in your hair!

Know Your Budget When Planning…

It is no longer expected that wedding costs will be assigned according to tradition. Every bride and groom should discuss their plan and budget for the wedding with their families to determine whether to follow a traditional division of financial responsibility for the wedding costs. If circumstances don’t allow the families to follow tradition, the proper rationale in deciding who pays for what portion is basic: whoever is most willing and most able to pay for a wedding.

Know your overall budget BEFORE you start planning your wedding. This is one of the first issues you and your fiancé should discuss. Set your priorities based on what is most important to both of you and spend accordingly. For example, if the meal is the most important element of your wedding, you’ll want to allocate a greater portion of your budget to it.

A Most Important Job…

Amongst all the stress of planning your wedding day, you have two very important members of your bridal party just itching to sprint down the aisle. Keep in mind the flowergirl and ringbearers have a very important job in your wedding day: the keeper of the “rings” and to make way for the bride by use of flower petals.

Your flower girl will no doubt be adorable, so consider her dressing the part. Try to find a mini dress to accompany yours, or have one made. It’s always adorable to see the bride and flowergirl in their matching attire. You might consider giving her an unconventional bag instead of the basket that is a more traditonal option.

The ringbearer always looks daper in his mini tuxedo, just make sure he matches the groom to a tee. If the groom has suspenders, have the ringbearer get them too. A little fedora hat also goes a long way. You can certainly still use a pillow with fake rings, but consider something a little more updated like the ringbearer carrying a sign saying “Here comes the bride!” This is really sweet and can be used for great pictures.

We have so much fun when the adorable Flower Girl dresses start to arrive. They’re just so cute! This is a new arrival from Jordan, shown in White and Light Pink. It has a satin bodice with a keyhole back and satin waistband. The tulle tutu skirt also has contrasting accents along the edge. This dress is available in any combination of 2 of the 75 colors Jordan offers. Lots of options with this one! http://www.fresnobridalsalon.com/

Your guests want to see the adorable ringbearer and flowergirls antics, so be ready for the comedy hour. Make sure that you put their parents in strategic places in the seating, so that if they do get a little rowdy, they can get them quickly.

  • Plan In Advance – Make a list of what you will need most and what your budget will allow for each item and service. Be sure to leave some room for the unexpected – you never know when you may see something you’ll want to have that you never thought of.
  • Be Ready To Make Decisions – Bring the major decision-makers to Premier Bride Showplace with you. If you are the major decision-maker, bring someone with you that you can bounce ideas off of. Be ready to book your favorite vendors there at the show. Some exhibitors may even offer day-of-show booking discounts.
  • Dress For The Occasion – Remember to wear comfortable shoes. Need we explain more on this one?
  • Fashion Forward – Bring a notepad with you to jot down any dresses or tuxes you like during the fashion show. It will be much easier for you to remember which Bridal Salon featured the gowns you like. You’ll also want to be able to take notes when attending the seminars.

Wedding Planning & Pinterest

Pinterest

If you’re planning a wedding, you already know the Internet is a great resource.
There’s a new player in the online wedding game, and it’s quickly becoming one
of the most popular – Pinterest.

On Pinterest.com, you can grab photos from around the web and ‘pin’ them
onto ‘boards,’ meaning you can post the photos online, under your user name,
into categories of your choosing. You can also browse other Pinterest user
boards.

Many Pinners that are dreaming of their big day post boards dedicated to
weddings. The photos are often accompanied with comments, and can
include tips or instructions on how to create the look that was captured in the
picture. Like wedding forums, you can interact with friends or strangers to get
suggestions and ideas for your special day, but this time, it’s all centered around
pictures of your choosing.

Pinterest certainly displays boards for all the biggies like the gown, décor and
food. But Pinterest’s real strength is in highlighting the details. It’s on this site that
you’ll find inspiration behind your personalized napkins, the perfect photography
poses or an idea for ‘something blue.’ Those seemingly insignificant details will
make your day truly unique.

Like many online wedding hotspots, Pinterest runs the risk of overwhelming. So,
to get the most out of the site, make sure to be specific when you’re scoping out
ideas.

In the search box in the top left hand corner of the page, use as many details
as possible, such as ‘fall DIY wedding décor,’ or ‘cream wedding pumps.’ If
you’re not exactly sure what you’re looking for, it helps to at least separate your
searches into different categories, such as ‘wedding décor’ or ‘bridesmaids,’
rather than just a generic ‘wedding’ search.

It’s also a great place to see real photos from themed weddings, which can be
more difficult to find on other websites. If you’re planning something outside the
box, search for that specifically, such as ‘Halloween wedding’ or ‘Great Gatsby
themed wedding.’

That being said, Pinterest is also a great way to explore outside your comfort
zone. Whimsical, woodsy, DIY, rustic, vintage, elegant, chic, romantic and

couture are all popular words on Pinterest’s wedding pins. Even if you think those
adjectives wouldn’t apply to your big day, type them in and browse. You might be
pleasantly surprised!

Finally, if you’re serious about using suggestions from Pinterest, do your
homework. Each picture can be traced back to its original blog or website, so
when you find something you like and think you could apply to your wedding,
click through and take notes or bookmark the page. Otherwise, you’ll get lost on
the site and look up from your computer three hours later without any clear idea
on how to make your wedding nicer.

Pinterest is still in a new growth phase, so you’ll need an invitation to join if you
haven’t already. You can request an invite right at pinterest.com, with the red
button along the top of the home page, but you might be put on a wait list. A
quicker way to get on board is to reach out to friends that are already members,
and ask them to send you a personalized invitation.

Now, get pinning!
