About Reverie

Ray is an awesome cinema shooter and started ReverieVP.com after shooting weddings beside Alicia at ThePhotoFriends.com  and seeing a need for a fresh perspective on video here in the valley.

Sometimes they shoot beside other photogs doing cinema, or shoot with other videographers doing photo, but we LOVE LOVE LOVE shooting cinema and photo side by side together.  Their passion really shows through when they collaborate and you can really see that in the work they produce together.

Please look through our photos and wedding trailers, fall in love with being in love and the idea of capturing it.  Let them know if you’d like to get to know them better than on a blog page and you can sit down, have some coffee and talk about your big day.

So You’re Interested, eh?

So, you’re interested in what the damage is going to be, huh?  We’ll start off by saying that we ain’t your daddy’s wedding videographer (in a good way!).  We offer an artistic and cinematic approach to traditional videos.  If you haven’t already, spend some time checking out our style, I’m sure that you’ll find it refreshing.

If you’d like more information on what we offer & pricing, the best thing would be to head over to the “Contact Us” page & send us your info, or you can just give us a call @ 559-392-7848.  We’d love to have a sit down with you & chat about your special day ;)

Thank you for stopping by and make sure to check out the “Meet Us” page to see a little more about who we are and what we do.  If you’re looking for a great photographer you should check out our sister company The Photo Friends.  We offer a pretty awesome incentive if you end up booking both photo & cinema with us.  Have a wonderful day!

More awesomeness…

12 wedding planning tips: Tip 6 – Wedding theme

Sharing this post from Vintage by Ethel & Pearl:

Choosing a theme for your wedding can be a really helpful way of pulling your styling elements together. A theme can be as simple as one or two choice colors or a theme which runs through every element, e.g. Pop Art. A theme can be broad, e.g. Literary Greats, or specific, e.g. The Great Gatsby. Sometimes a theme emerges from one simple item like a pair of gorgeous bright blue shoes or a grandmother’s brooch that you want to incorporate into your outfit on the day.

A theme may be so subtle the guests are not even aware there is a theme threading the details together, yet it helps you select complementary elements to make for a beautiful and well styled event.

Featured Vendor – The Painted Table

About The Painted Table

Since 2008, The Painted Table, has been creating unique and delicious food combinations for weddings, anniversaries, corporate gatherings and special occasions through out the Central Valley. Voted one of the top catering businesses in the Fresno area, co-owners and personal chef’s Rodney Hansen and Jeromie Garza have deep roots in the culture of the San Joaquin Valley.

Rodney’s family were almond and grape farmers. Committed to their Danish traditions, they stopped every day and 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to relax with family and enjoy coffee, tea, fresh squeezed juice and pastries. Rod’s family traditions helped him develop his passion for cooking using locally grown produce and ingredients. He attended the School of Culinary Arts at the Art Institute of Seattle where he earned a degree in both Pastry and Culinary Arts. After graduating, he worked at the Culinary Institute’s West Coast Campus, Greystone, in St. Helena, California. Rod also worked for the Sorrento Hotel in Seattle, Washington as well as for Dilettante Chocolate, as a pastry chef.

While Jeromie also has a love for the culinary arts, his path to the catering business took a different route. He spent many years in the dental field developing his customer service and marketing skills. He met Rod through work and learned everything about Culinary Arts from him. With their combined skills the two decided to open Magical Cakes in Visalia.

Then in 2008, Rod and Jeromie created The Painted Table. What started as a personal chef service, has quickly grown into a successful catering business. Clients have come to appreciate their signature dishes that are visually appealing and simply delicious.

Rod says their attention to detail makes them stand out in the catering community. The Painted Table offers unique options to its client that can’t be found elsewhere. They will customize a menu to meet their client’s specific needs, using locally grown, fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables. Their table settings are so visually appealing, that it looks like a work of art – hence their name, The Painted Table.

In June of 2011, The Painted Table moved into the restaurant formerly known as the Daily Planet, next to the historical Tower Theater. This new space, which can accommodate as many as 250 people, is perfect for cocktail parties, corporate gatherings or even intimate events. They can also partner with the Tower Theater to provide their clients with access to the theater for larger events such as weddings. Finally, as an added value for theater patrons, The Painted Table will be partnering with the Tower Theater for selected events, providing dinner and show packages.

Although they moved to the beautifully restored Daily Planet, The Painted Table is mainly an off-site catering operation, traveling throughout the Central Valley and as far as Los Angeles or San Francisco to cater special events.

Rod and Jeromie pride themselves in making every
occasion’s menu a delicious work of art. All clients are treated with the upmost respect and care. Consultations are set up at either the Daily Planet or the event location to go over menu options as well as secure the date. Once a client has secured their date and made their deposit, they can set up a menu tasting.

If at all possible, they prefer to book events 6 months in advance, especially during the peak seasons during the holidays and summer, the earlier the better.

Rod and Jeromie love what they do and it shows in the service they provide. In a few short years, they have quickly become the go to caterers for the client who wishes to create a memorable event for their guests, with amazing culinary creations that simply cannot be found with any other caterer.

Wedding Planning & Pinterest

Pinterest

If you’re planning a wedding, you already know the Internet is a great resource.
There’s a new player in the online wedding game, and it’s quickly becoming one
of the most popular – Pinterest.

On Pinterest.com, you can grab photos from around the web and ‘pin’ them
onto ‘boards,’ meaning you can post the photos online, under your user name,
into categories of your choosing. You can also browse other Pinterest user
boards.

Many Pinners that are dreaming of their big day post boards dedicated to
weddings. The photos are often accompanied with comments, and can
include tips or instructions on how to create the look that was captured in the
picture. Like wedding forums, you can interact with friends or strangers to get
suggestions and ideas for your special day, but this time, it’s all centered around
pictures of your choosing.

Pinterest certainly displays boards for all the biggies like the gown, décor and
food. But Pinterest’s real strength is in highlighting the details. It’s on this site that
you’ll find inspiration behind your personalized napkins, the perfect photography
poses or an idea for ‘something blue.’ Those seemingly insignificant details will
make your day truly unique.

Like many online wedding hotspots, Pinterest runs the risk of overwhelming. So,
to get the most out of the site, make sure to be specific when you’re scoping out
ideas.

In the search box in the top left hand corner of the page, use as many details
as possible, such as ‘fall DIY wedding décor,’ or ‘cream wedding pumps.’ If
you’re not exactly sure what you’re looking for, it helps to at least separate your
searches into different categories, such as ‘wedding décor’ or ‘bridesmaids,’
rather than just a generic ‘wedding’ search.

It’s also a great place to see real photos from themed weddings, which can be
more difficult to find on other websites. If you’re planning something outside the
box, search for that specifically, such as ‘Halloween wedding’ or ‘Great Gatsby
themed wedding.’

That being said, Pinterest is also a great way to explore outside your comfort
zone. Whimsical, woodsy, DIY, rustic, vintage, elegant, chic, romantic and

couture are all popular words on Pinterest’s wedding pins. Even if you think those
adjectives wouldn’t apply to your big day, type them in and browse. You might be
pleasantly surprised!

Finally, if you’re serious about using suggestions from Pinterest, do your
homework. Each picture can be traced back to its original blog or website, so
when you find something you like and think you could apply to your wedding,
click through and take notes or bookmark the page. Otherwise, you’ll get lost on
the site and look up from your computer three hours later without any clear idea
on how to make your wedding nicer.

Pinterest is still in a new growth phase, so you’ll need an invitation to join if you
haven’t already. You can request an invite right at pinterest.com, with the red
button along the top of the home page, but you might be put on a wait list. A
quicker way to get on board is to reach out to friends that are already members,
and ask them to send you a personalized invitation.

Now, get pinning!
